Headgate Diversion Reconstruction

Gravel diversions in the mainstem and outdated headgate design have resulted in numerous habitat and irrigation  problems including aggradation, fish passage problems, entrainment, and inability to regulate irrigation flow.

Rock veins will be installed at current gravel "weir" location, the headgate will be replaced with new screwdown gate, and an aquarod will be installed in the ditch.

Benefits of the project include:

  • Remove fish barriers
  • Reduce aggradation (allow sediments to blow through)
  • Reduce entrainment
  • Improve control and measurability
